3D printer creates a hand that can play the piano

Recently, a 3D printing robot hand that can be flexibly operated and can perform various sports has been developed, and it can actually play the piano!

It was developed by researchers from the University of Cambridge in the UK and can play simple music on the piano.

“We can use passive to achieve a wide range of robotic movements: for example, walking, swimming or flying,” said Josie Hughes, Cambridge University's first engineering author. “Intelligent mechanical design allows us to achieve maximum range of

motion with minimal control costs: we want to see how much movement the mechanic can get.”



“The basic motivation for this project is to understand the specific intelligence, the intelligence of our machinery,” said Dr. Fumiya Iida, who led the study. “Our body is made up of intelligent mechanical designs, such as bones, ligaments and skin, and
